These two were so great, they even had a little picnic in the snow. They had some wine and a cute little blanket and everything!

These two were all smiles despite the cold, which made for some adorable photos! We really loved working with them, and can’t believe how well they did in the snow. We are so excited to be shooting their wedding.

These two were total troopers. The snow at Hartwood was really blowing around but it made for such beautiful shots. It was a perfect day for a winter engagement shoot!

Derrik and Jess just did an engagement shoot with us and it was a total blast. These two braved the cold Pittsburgh winter to come out to Hartwood Acres and play in the snow with us! It’ll be a big difference from their beachy summer nuptials.

Engagements are always fun for us. We get a chance to know the couples and they can really get a great feeling for how we work, before the big day. We’ve got ton of ideas for engagements, but lately we’ve had couples bringing props. It’s great! It really helps show some more personality in your session. We also get the chance to take some really fun shots. Anything from picnics to balloons to goofy masks or bicycles, anything goes! Have a theme for your wedding? Bring a few props hinting at it! Are you a pair of film buffs? Take a scene from your favorite romantic movie and re-create it for your engagement (who wouldn’t love a cute Notebook-themed engagement shot?) or bring a set of 3D glasses and some popcorn and do a movies in the park themed engagement! Go wild, we love it!
