Vince and Sam, Wedding Preview

Yesterday we photographed Vince and Sam’s wedding, and after doing their engagement we knew it was going to be so much fun. We met Sam at the church to take shots while she got her makeup done by Debi Maker. While she was getting that done, we took the time to get the guys putting on their tuxes. Then it was time to get married! Sam looked absolutely gorgeous, and the pair gave us a large selection of kissing shots. After the receiving line, it was time for posed photos, and for the bridal party to be wild. Then we took the couple for some shots alone in a wooded area near the church, where they got to enjoy some “alone” time. Then we headed to the reception site, for some food, drinks, and dancing the rest of the night away.
Megan and Brent, Wedding Preview

Last weekend we had a blast with Megan and Brent, along with their huge, wild and crazy bridal party! The whole day was perfect, from getting ready, (Megan looked gorgeous before she even got the dress on!) to the beautiful ceremony. The weather held out and gave us a chance to get some gorgeous outdoor shots before we headed out to the reception.
Kelley and Nick, Wedding Preview

Yesterday we trekked off to Saxonburg, PA to photograph Nick and Kelley’s wedding. Before the ceremony, we hung out with Kelley at her parent’s house in Canonsburg to take photos while she got her makeup done (by the excellent Patty Bell, check out her site!). Then we drove out to Armstrong Farms, where the ceremony was held. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding. After the ceremony we had free reign of the grounds for photos. Then it was time for toasts and dinner. Admittedly, we were excited for dinner, the food smelled amazing! (And tasted amazing!!) Once everyone had their share of the food at each station, dessert was put out and it was time for dancing. We had a complete blast, and even jumped in the photobooth for a few shots before we finished out the night!

Katie and Joe, Wedding Preview

We had a blast at Katie and Joe’s wedding last weekend. Just the color scheme showed how fun they were as a couple, with the girls in some great hot-pink dresses! After Katie got ready we all headed to the ceremony, which was beautiful. After, we caught Joe monkeying around and used the opportunity to get some great photos of the two. It was a gorgeous day overall, and one photos were done we headed off to a fun reception, DJed by John Leon, who kept us dancing all night!
Mike and Kim Preview, 1-02-10
So, for our first wedding of the year, we had a total blast. Kim and Mike were an awesome couple and their whole wedding party was a total dream. We had a ton of fun, from photographing Kim getting ready at the Marriott in Robinson, the snaps we took at the beautiful ceremony, braving the eighteen degree weather (brrr), to returning to the Marriott for their stellar reception.
It was a really amazing way to start off 2010 for everyone!
The day began at the Marriott near the Pittsburgh Airport, where Kim and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The girls all looked great, and we got there just in time to photograph Kim getting her hair and make-up done. She looked totally gorgeous! After she and her mom got ready, it was time to put on the dress. Lacing up the back is one of our favorite shots to get, so Kim’s dress was perfect. After the dress was on, we took a few shots of Kim on the room, which turned out great. Then it was off to the church!
After the ceremony we went out to do photos at the Convention Center and the Pennsylvanian. Despite the freezing temps, the whole bridal party really rocked it! Kim was a total trooper in her strapless dress, and complained less than we did!
Next up was going back to the Marriott for the reception (with DJ Andy Booth, who did an awesome job!), where Kim had a suprise for Mike, an adorable groom’s cake. The venue was stunning, with blue uplighting and these amazing centerpieces with floating candles. We all had a great time, and from the wild activity on the dance floor, it looked like everyone else did too!
Since it was our first wedding of 2010, here’s a larger sneak peek than usual:
Jess and Tom, Rock the Dress, 10-31
Our good friends Jess and Tom, who are located just outside of Philadelphia, got married in September and had us do a rock the dress the next month. They were totally awesome, since we had them go to Ringing Rocks State Park, near Upper Black Eddy PA. They hoofed it out to the 8 acre field of boulders, then hiked to Keller’s Cellar (a rock formation in the park) and High Falls. On the drive back home, we found a beautiful field and got some great shots just before the rain came.
Also, expect to see Jess and Tom’s Christmas card, featuring one of our photos, posted later in the week!
A Wedding Photography Checklist
Having a wedding photography checklist might sound like a silly idea, but in reality it helps make your photos options easier to determine.
You might think of different ideas and possible photo locations you’ll want to discuss with your chosen photographer. However, with everything else you’ve got to think about, some of these ideas might be forgotten. This is why you need to make a list of things you’d like to have at your wedding.
Choosing the right photographer:
When choosing your wedding photographer, be sure to take your checklist with you. Talk to them about various lighting ideas and options, and discuss ideas for both color, and black and white photography. Also, talk to your photographer about photography options for indoor and outdoor pictures. The right photographer will be able to take your ideas and make them even better.
Another idea you might want to have on your checklist is when you’ll be having your pictures taken. Though most wedding photos are taken after the big event, some opt to have theirs taken before the nuptials. If you choose your wedding photographer well before hand, you might also want to have some engagement photos taken to show off to the world.
From the moment they pop the question to the moment you say “I do”, you’ll think of a thousand things you’ll want to see in your wedding pictures. Don’t take the risk of forgetting some of the more elaborate and whimsical ideas you come up with. By creating a wedding photography checklist, you can make sure that all your wedding photo ideas can come true.
Pittsburgh Bridal Photography
The perfect bridal photography starts with the perfect photographer. In the past, wedding pictures were more about the entire event, than certain detailed aspects. With today’s technologies, it’s easier to take unique photos without having to drag hundreds of dollars worth of equipment all over. This allows photographers to take more elaborate wedding pictures.
Choosing the right photographers for weddings is almost as important as choosing the dress and the flower arrangements. For those who live in smaller communities, you might have to look outside your region to find the right photographer. However, for those who live in larger cities such as Pittsburgh, you have a broader range of options. We invited you to check out Sky’s The Limit Photography, owned and operated by Edward Coll.
Mr. Coll has taken wedding photography to the next level, by implementing a more photo-journalistic and artistic feel to his designs. His photos are both stylish and unique, as he goes the extra distance to ensure that his clients are happy with the end results. He works to combine the traditional aspects of wedding pictures with innovative ideas that will create one-of-a-kind photos for each event.
If you’re planning the wedding of a lifetime, then you’re going to want a photographer that will capture the essence of the big event. You’re going to want a photographer that goes beyond the norm when it comes to the perfect wedding pictures. Check out Sky’s The Limit photography. We believe you will agree that this is just the bridal photography you’ve been dreaming about your whole life.
