Vince and Sam, Wedding Preview

Yesterday we photographed Vince and Sam’s wedding, and after doing their engagement we knew it was going to be so much fun. We met Sam at the church to take shots while she got her makeup done by Debi Maker. While she was getting that done, we took the time to get the guys putting on their tuxes. Then it was time to get married! Sam looked absolutely gorgeous, and the pair gave us a large selection of kissing shots. After the receiving line, it was time for posed photos, and for the bridal party to be wild. Then we took the couple for some shots alone in a wooded area near the church, where they got to enjoy some “alone” time. Then we headed to the reception site, for some food, drinks, and dancing the rest of the night away.
Jessica and Kevin, Wedding Preview

Jessica and Kevin’s wedding last weekend was another beautiful wedding in an amazing location. The ceremony and reception were held at West Overton Village. The girls got ready in the museum, a beautiful old house with amazing color and a great vintage feel. Once everyone was ready, they went to the ceremony, in a beautiful outdoor garden. After the ceremony, we took the couple to do some shots with the gorgeous, civil war-era barns. The reception was held in one of the large barns on the property, and was absolutely stunning. The rustic brick walls and old wood worked well with the couple’s lively pink and green color scheme, seen on their gorgeous cake! The whole night was rocking after dinner, and a few of the guests had a spin around the dance floor with Jessica!
Malorie and Mouad, Wedding Preview

Last weekend we got to do a wedding at one of our favorite places, Phipps Conservatory, with Malorie and Mouad. They got married during the golden hour, in the outdoor garden. The decor was very colorful and had a lot of details that tied into Mouad’s Moroccan hertiage. The couple was so fun and laid back, it was an absolute blast from the second they arrived. Malorie wore some of the wildest shoes we’ve ever seen at a wedding! The ceremony itself was gorgeous, the pair got married in from of a small fountain in the outdoor gardens, in the gorgeous golden light of the setting sun. After the ceremony finished, the couple walked back down the aisle as guests lit their way with sparklers! Once we finished up family photos, we ran off for some shots of Malorie and Mouad alone in some of the beautiful gardens surrounding Phipps. We returned just in time for dinner, and everyone took a little break to enjoy the evening. Before we left, though, we made sure the couple got a chance to play with the sparklers too!
Chris and Anita, Wedding Preview

Chris and Anita picked a perfect weekend to get married, and we got the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather (and photo opportunities!) with them. We started the day off with Anita while she got her hair and makeup done, and got a ton of great shots. Then it was off to the ceremony! We mananged to catch Chris getting his boutonniere pinned on before it was time for everyone to walk down the aisle. After the ceremony we took the couple out for some lovely summer-y garden shots. Then it was time to head over to the reception at the Omni William Penn Hotel. The reception was gorgeous. The lighting was beautiful and leant itself to some great dancing shots!
Trista and Cassie, Engagement Preview

We had a great time with Cassie and Trista down in the South Side for their engagement photos. They let us go completely wild, which yielded some great results. The couple really worked well in the urban jungle, which lended itself to a great variety of backdrops!
Kelley and Nick, Wedding Preview

Yesterday we trekked off to Saxonburg, PA to photograph Nick and Kelley’s wedding. Before the ceremony, we hung out with Kelley at her parent’s house in Canonsburg to take photos while she got her makeup done (by the excellent Patty Bell, check out her site!). Then we drove out to Armstrong Farms, where the ceremony was held. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding. After the ceremony we had free reign of the grounds for photos. Then it was time for toasts and dinner. Admittedly, we were excited for dinner, the food smelled amazing! (And tasted amazing!!) Once everyone had their share of the food at each station, dessert was put out and it was time for dancing. We had a complete blast, and even jumped in the photobooth for a few shots before we finished out the night!

Katie and Joe, Wedding Preview

We had a blast at Katie and Joe’s wedding last weekend. Just the color scheme showed how fun they were as a couple, with the girls in some great hot-pink dresses! After Katie got ready we all headed to the ceremony, which was beautiful. After, we caught Joe monkeying around and used the opportunity to get some great photos of the two. It was a gorgeous day overall, and one photos were done we headed off to a fun reception, DJed by John Leon, who kept us dancing all night!
Tanya, Pre-Wedding Festivities
Friday we had the pleasure of being with Tanya the day before her wedding ceremony. The two part of the ceremony were called Devkaaren and Tel. It was a wonderful experience for us to be involved in this part of the wedding ceremony, and it gave us the chance to get to know Tanya’s side of the family before the wedding. They were all so nice, and the whole day was just so amazing. (And the food was to die for!)
Jennifer and Sean, Engagement Session
This week we got the chance to do Jen and Sean’s engagement photos. We do a lot of engagement shoots, and each one is great, but this one was especially awesome. We had access to both PNC Park and Heinz Filed for the day, and even got to go in the locker room at the Heniz Field. Ed couldn’t help himself and stepped in for a few shots! Jen and Sean were great to work with, and we can’t wait for their wedding later this month!
Mike and Kim Preview, 1-02-10
So, for our first wedding of the year, we had a total blast. Kim and Mike were an awesome couple and their whole wedding party was a total dream. We had a ton of fun, from photographing Kim getting ready at the Marriott in Robinson, the snaps we took at the beautiful ceremony, braving the eighteen degree weather (brrr), to returning to the Marriott for their stellar reception.
It was a really amazing way to start off 2010 for everyone!
The day began at the Marriott near the Pittsburgh Airport, where Kim and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The girls all looked great, and we got there just in time to photograph Kim getting her hair and make-up done. She looked totally gorgeous! After she and her mom got ready, it was time to put on the dress. Lacing up the back is one of our favorite shots to get, so Kim’s dress was perfect. After the dress was on, we took a few shots of Kim on the room, which turned out great. Then it was off to the church!
After the ceremony we went out to do photos at the Convention Center and the Pennsylvanian. Despite the freezing temps, the whole bridal party really rocked it! Kim was a total trooper in her strapless dress, and complained less than we did!
Next up was going back to the Marriott for the reception (with DJ Andy Booth, who did an awesome job!), where Kim had a suprise for Mike, an adorable groom’s cake. The venue was stunning, with blue uplighting and these amazing centerpieces with floating candles. We all had a great time, and from the wild activity on the dance floor, it looked like everyone else did too!
Since it was our first wedding of 2010, here’s a larger sneak peek than usual:
